A conversation with Guus Beumer (director HNI) about the opening of the season at Het Nieuwe Instituut. Also, Mirko Zardini (Director CCA) & Giovanna Borasi (Chief Curator CCA) about their exhibition The Other Architect: a culmination of extensive archival research by the Canadian Centre for Architecture in Montreal, explores the practice of various architects since the 1960s who have embraced a broader definition of their roles as designers. It showcases architecture’s potential to identify the urgent issues of our time, featuring 22 case studies that illustrate how international and often multidisciplinary groups invented and adopted new methods outside of traditional design practices. Featuring work by AMO, Architects’ Revolutionary Council, Architectural Detective Agency, Design-A-Thon, Forensic Architecture, Global Tools, Kommunen in der Neuen Welt and Lightweight Enclosures Unit.
