Care Radio Vol. 2
Espacio Estamos Bien
Care Radio is a space to share sounds, amplify voices, portray communities and acknowledge nearness.
For this edition, created a space to talk and reflect on the different ideas that pop up when we are rooting ourselves in new realities. How are we creating affective/supportive rhizomatic networks for collaboration and resistance? This is the question that we want to socialize together with the participants and organizers of this second Salwa Gathering. Additionally, we will be broadcasting the sounds of what is happening physically at Casco Institute. We will act as the ears of the people who are not able to take part on-site.
To be able to enjoy the fruits of our labour in the future, we need to lay the groundwork and prepare the soil. After an exciting first Gathering Roots & Routes, SALWA returns with Resilient Grounds. A two-day event opening up conversations about how to create long-lasting infrastructures or models around care, so that we can collectively find joy and flourish, starting from the premise that one needs to be where one can grow roots.
How can one deal with hard and rotten soil where the old roots are still in place? What kind of meeting grounds can we bring into being from where we can collectively articulate, explore, and challenge the current realities we are facing?
The two-day program will unfold around practices that demand, as is the case with the delicate work of replanting, tender hands that can bring about nourishment and understanding. For our work with artists that are new in the Netherlands and who have often gone through traumatic experiences, it is important to have conversations about resilience, care for the self and community, survivor guilt, and solidarity. Within the building of Casco Art Institute: Working for the Commons we come together around performances, talks and an exhibition.

Espacio Estamos Bien
Espacio Estamos Bien an autonomous non-autonomous space for contradictory things to happen.
EEB is an art cooperative*
EEB started by plotting around the idea of a new space in Amsterdam. We felt the need of a place –not necessarily a physical one–that could provide us with an affective and supporting context. The course was set with a sketch of a place that could contain events and exhibitions, with nomadic and flexible models on our mind, a space for those who do not belong in the institutional circuit. A space that is always changing, always moving, but always available.
*A cooperative is an autonomous association of persons united voluntarily to form a democratic organization whose administration and management must be carried out in a manner agreed by the members.
